Sister pays tribute to road accident victim
Amy Johnstone
THE family of a Kennoway woman who died in a road traffic collision near Craigrothie on Wednesday has paid tribute to her.
Amy Johnstone, 24, an auxiliary nurse, was the passenger in a car which was taking her to work at St Andrews Hospital when it collided with a concrete pumping lorry on the A916 road near the Union Farm Kennels at around 11am.
Her sister, Stephanie, said: “Amy was a bubbly, popular young girl, a caring daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, sister-in-law and fiancée who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.”
Fife Police is appealing for witnesses to the accident.
Inspector Brenda Sinclair, of the force’s road policing unit, said: “We are very keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision or was driving in the area ... particularly the driver of a dark-coloured Land Rover which was seen in the area at the time.
“Anyone who can assist us is asked to call 0845 600 5702 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
