Skinny Jim

POPULAR Cupar band Skinny Jim are to perform at a major charity event next Saturday, November 3.

The band are to provide their services free of charge for the evening, which is being organised under the auspices of the Darren Lackie Memorial Fund and will benefit a number of local charities.

The event is being held at Watts, Cupar, and will take the form of a fancy dress monster ball.

The fund was set up in memory of Cupar soldier Darren Lackie, who died in mysterious circumstances while on holiday in Portugal in April 2011.

It is spearheaded by family friend Rod Whyte with the aim of improving facilities for local children as well as ensuring that 21-year-old Darren is not forgotten.

Meanwhile tomorrow (Saturday) a children’s fancy dress party is to be held the the former Castlehill hall, also in aid of the fund, and calendars will be on sale shortly in outlets including the Print Shop, Gilmour’s and Cupar Post Office.
