Spooky walks help to keep lifeboat afloat

KINGHORN RNLI Lifeboat volunteers had another record-breaking year at their annual Hallowe’en Spooky Walks.
The annual Spooky Walks, now in their eighth year, were the most spectacular on record, with a record-breaking £2786 raised for RNLI funds.
Kinghorn’s newest eatery, The Morgue café, was open for three nights only providing spooky refreshments for walkers.
There were 22 spooky walks which took place over three nights with over 400 people taken on tours of Kinghorn’s dark past.
Keith Hay, lifeboat helmsman, said: “We have again been overwhelmed with the success of the Spooky Walks this year.
“We made some big changes from last year and raised another record sum.
“This money will continue to help the RNLI charity save lives at sea.
“Around the UK and Ireland last year we saved 438 lives and rescued or aided over 25,000 people.
“This would not have been possible without fundraising events such as the Spooky Walk.
“It’s really great that people come out and support us each year.
“We had very cold temperatures for two nights, with rain on the third, yet all the tours were still fully booked!
“We also had excellent support from many other local people who helped run the walks and ensured it was a great success.”
