A TOURISM group reckons Fife boasts some of the finest golfing experiences in the world – and is aiming to put that message on a global stage.
A new £64,000 marketing campaign by Fife Golf Partnership includes a £32,000 contribution from the VisitScotland Growth Fund.
As well as a new website – www.visitfifegolf.com – the group will use the money to attend international golf shows, produce an indispensable pocket guide to golf in Fife and develop a mobile phone app which promotes offers and discounts.
Stephen Owen, chairman of the partnership, said: “As the game’s spiritual home, Fife boasts a tremendous heritage and we have a wide range of courses that offer something for everyone.
We needed an extra push to spread the word and we are extremely grateful to VisitScotland.
“The £32,000 award will helpd us to encourage more visitors to enjoy a golfing holiday to remember in the Kingdom.
“In total, there are 51 golf courses within our partnership – that’s almost one for every week of the year.”
