Springfield brothers get ready to take on the world

Two Springfield brothers are to take part in the Tae Kwon Do World Championships in Cyprus in the summer.

Logan (11) and Duart MacLean (10), both pupils at Castlehill Primary School in Cupar, train with the Global Taekwon-Do Federation in Cupar and Craigrothie.

The lads, who are also carers for their mum, Lee, have been active in the sport for the past five years and have a cabinet full of trophies, including Scottish titles.

They have also received much help and tips from their dad, Murdo, who is a black belt and instructor.

He will be starting his own class in Springfield later this month.

Lee (35) said this week: “The boys do many jobs around the house and help me personally.

“When I have a seizure they know when it’s time for intervention and help.

“They’ve been doing this since they were very young - and I’m really proud of them.”

Logan and Duart have to raise about £3000 between them for the championships which take place between June 24 and 30.

Anyone who can help sponsor them is asked to email leesmaclean@gmail.com or phone Lee on (01334) 656712 or 07709491148.
