Support for campaign against violence
MORE than 100 people from across Fife attended a seminar to highlight a campaign to end violence against women, held at Fife Constabulary’s HQ in Glenrothes RECENTLY.
The aim of the seminar was to ensure Fife Constabulary is working effectively alongside partners and operational officers by providing training and awareness on tackling violence and domestic abuse.
The seminar was opened by Superintendent Alex Duncan and presentations were delivered by Chief Inspector Graham Goulden, who heads the Anti-Violence Campaign on behalf of the Violence Reduction Unit, and Callum Hendry from the White Ribbon Campaign.
As part of the initiative, 15 local officers were trained as campaign speakers by White Ribbon Scotland, which campaigns for men in Scotland to be involved in the aim of ending violence against women.
White Ribbon Scotland is part of a global campaign of men and boys committed to taking action to stop violence against women.
