Five Madras College pupils recently enjoyed a day of debating in a competition at Robert Gordon’s College in Aberdeen.

Ewan Redpath, Siobhan Meldrum, James Currie, Lawrence Brown and Soha Nabi all took part.

There were three debates, with four speakers on each side. The first motion was about the government being able to spy on its citizens in interest of national security.

The second motion was that Britain should make voting compulsory. And the third and final motion proposed that pupils should make all school rules, including uniform.
