TWO more units will be empty on Kirkcaldy High Street as one closes and another moves location.

First Choice Travel Agents has closed its High Street branch whilst the Chickenshop fancy dress hire has moved to new premises in the Mercat and aims to open today (Thursday).

A spokesman for First Choice said: “First Choice is continually reviewing the leases and performance of its stores.

“As the lease of Kirkcaldy was coming to a natural end, the decision was made not to renew it.

“All staff working in the store have been offered roles in other Thomson stores in the nearby area.”

Duncan Reid of the Chickenshop said: “We think that the Mercat is a better location and we will gain more footfall in there.

“Before we took over the Chickenshop was in danger of closing down, so we think that this is going to be a really good move for us.”
