Veteran director makes an emotional return . . .

Serbian film director Zelimir Zilnik was in St Andrews last weekend for a special presentation of his new film at the Byre Theatre.

The veteran director has picked up numerous prizes and awards for his work down the years which has openly criticised the censorship and repression imposed by successive regimes in his home country.

The visit marks an emotional return for Zilnik who visited Fife in the early 1950s as a child having been orphaned during the war.

His latest film, The Old School of Capitalism, deals with the negative impacts of local and global capital and comes at a time of economic turmoil across Europe and in the midst of a global protest movement against economic inequality.
