Planet Leven by Steve Caffrey

WElcome to Leven as you’ve never seen it before...

This stunning image is the brainchild of graphic designer Steve Caffrey (23) a former pupil at Buckhaven High School, whose parents Ned and Sandra still live in the area.

Steve studied at Adam Smith College and went on to work for NME and Vice magazines and, for Canongate Books, designed the second Idiot Abroad accompaniment, a Life of Pi reprint and comedian Noel Fielding’s art book, the Scribblings of a Madcap Shambleton.

He currently lives in Edinburgh and works for Ness Clothing.

He said: “I think I got into graphic design because of my Dad’s old posters and vinyl covers, 30 years or so of new trends coming and going and taking their own unique style with them.

“The image itself was created using a dozen images that I snapped on film from the beach in 2010 - see the power station still standing.

“I rediscovered them in my parents’ house when I was back for a visit and got a little bit creative.

“Planet Leven!”
