Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman died following a road accident on Saturday.
The collision took place on the A92 Dunfermline to Kirkcaldy dual carriageway near to the Lochgelly junction at around 10.25 a.m.
Elizabeth Herd (71), died when the Ford Ka she was driving collided with a red MAN curtain-sided lorry.
A family spokesman paid tribute: “She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family are requesting privacy at this difficult time.”
Sergeant Andy Mather of Fife Division of Police Scotland, said: “The A92 was particularly busy in both directions on Saturday morning.
“Although several witnesses have already approached my officers and provided statements, there may be many more who could also hold vital evidence which can assist our enquiry.
“We are appealing to those persons to get in touch with Police Scotland by calling 101, so we can progress our investigation into this tragic collision.”
