Zumba fans join the charity workout

OVER 150 of Fife’s Zumba-lovers danced themselves fit recently and raised over £900 for Target Ovarian Cancer.

The Zumbathon, held at five leisure centres across the Kingdom, including Levenmouth Swimming Pool, was organised by cancer survivor Jane Alexander of Kelty to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.

“I would like to thank everyone,” said Jane.

“The day was absolutely brilliant, and it was so heart-warming to see everyone having fun for such a good cause.

“As one of the few women lucky enough to recover from ovarian cancer, this event was very close to my heart.

“The awareness raised of ovarian cancer through this event was immense, and I hope everyone took something away from the day besides sore muscles.”

In the UK, ovarian cancer affects thousands of women every year and has just a 36 per cent five-year survival rate.
