Students and staff at Adam Smith College were on hand to support a group of local school pupils recently when they held a special luncheon for famous crime writer Ian Rankin.

The nine pupils from Auchmuty High School are all studying Skills for Work in Hospitality at the College’s Stenton Campus in Glenrothes.

They were thrilled to meet the popular Cardenden-born author when he visited the College to award student scholarships recently.

The Skills for Work programme is part of a range of links in place between Adam Smith College and High Schools throughout Fife to give pupils an insight into college life and to enhance their qualifications and skills.
