Last weekend packed houses enjoyed opera, courtesy of OperaUpClose – and the chance to get dancing with some waltzing practice.

So we come to the last weekend of the festival.

And if you didn’t recognise this article’s opening quote, it’s from the play that should never be named, Macbeth.

Scotland’s biggest and best-loved Shakespeare company, Bard in the Botanics bring their production to St Andrews.

Gordon Barr, the company’s artistic director, said all the company’s members were really excited to be coming to a new venue for them.

“We feel very privileged to be the festival’s closing event,” he said.

“We know St Andrews well from appearing at the Byre at Christmas, but it is nice to be able to do work in the garden.”
