Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following an assault and robbery in Burntisland.
The incident happened shortly before 3.30 a.m. today (Tuesday) at an address in Bendameer Road.
Three men forced their way into the property and restrained a 54-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, by tying them up, before making off with various household goods including a flat screen television, laptop and mobile phones.
Officers are now conducting local enquiries to trace those responsible and anyone who can assist with their investigation is asked to come forward.
The suspects are all described as white with medium builds and wearing dark clothing. One of the men was considerably shorter than the other two men and had collar-length fair hair.
Detective Sergeant Neil McKenzie said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the occupants, who were not only extremely frightened after being bound by the suspects, but very distressed at the theft of their possessions.
“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in the area in the early hours of Tuesday morning is asked to contact police immediately.
“Similarly, those with any other information relevant to this enquiry, is also asked to get in touch.”
