Man arrested over alleged assault and hostage-taking incidents in Aberdour and Glenrothes

Police have arrested a 36 year-old man after an alleged hostage-taking incident in the quiet village of Aberdour and another incident the same day in Glenrothes.

Police were called to a house in Main Street, Aberdour around 5pm on Friday, 4 November, to an incident where a woman had allegedly been taken hostage. The man was very quickly taken into custody by police and consequently was due to appear from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. The victim sustained a minor injury.

The man was also charged with offences committed in Glenrothes earlier on Friday, where it is alleged he assaulted a woman in the Woodside area of the town. The woman was uninjured.
