Police in Levenmouth have arrested and charged a 32-year-old man after a dog was killed by an off-road bike.

The dog, a white Saluki, was knocked down by the bike while walking with its owner on waste ground to the north of Mulberry Crescent, Methil, at about 3.20pm on Sunday, March 8.

I hope this incident will hit home with those individuals who have chosen to ignore previous advice on the dangers of this illegal activity.

He will now be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for culpable and reckless conduct.

Sergeant Mike Collins said: “This irresponsible and careless act in a popular walking area left a pet dead and an owner distraught.

“Our local action plan, Ducatti, continues to address the problem of off-road motorbikes in the local area and would like to thank the local community for their continued support.

“I hope this incident will hit home with those individuals who have chosen to ignore previous advice on the dangers of this illegal activity.”
