A man has been arrested and charged following a number of bogus caller incidents in Kirkcaldy.
Police confirmed on Tuesday that a 24-year-old man is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
The news came following a call from police for residents in the area to be vigilant after the incidents that occurred between July 6 and 16.
Detective Sergeant Graeme Dursley said: “Crimes of this nature can cause significant damage to a victim’s confidence and officers carried out extensive enquiries in an effort to trace the perpetrator, who had purposefully targeted elderly and vulnerable people.
“I’d like to thank the victims and witnesses who came forward and provided vital assistance with our investigations.”
