A man has been injured after being hit by a marked police car in Kirkcaldy.

Witnesses saw the casualty being treated by paramedics on the ground at Abbotshall Road at lunchtime today (Thursday).

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that a marked police car was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on East Fergus Place in Kirkcaldy at around 12:30pm on Thursday, April 28.

“A man has been taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“Enquiries into the full circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing and any witnesses who have not already come forward are asked to contact police on 101.”

Police closed off the road between the Esso filling station and East Fergus Place and traffic was diverted from the scene.
