I will put my hands up and admit I am a sucker for a superhero film and this is one of the best I’ve seen in a while. The superhero genre has definitely grown over the past few years with the good (this film) and the bad (Daredevil, I’m looking at you). In this film, we see Clark Kent aka Superman crash land in Kansas and, after learning of his super powers, takes on the U.S Military who are investigating the Kryptonian spaceship in the Arctic. After defeating the bad guys he agrees to help the government but on his terms. He takes a job as a reporter at the Daily Planet to provide him the cover to deal with dangerous situtations without arousing any suspicion. Although there have been a few Superman films, this one brings the Son of Krypton bang up to date with the use of special effects and CGI which, I have to admit, covers up a few too many plot holes. That being said, this is not just for die-hard superhero fans, this is a great film to fill the time and it has Henry Cavill in it. Enough said!
