Fife businesses were able to find out more about growing their businesses - and accessing the funds to do so at a special “Meet the Funder” event last week.

Around 70 companies attended a business breakfast with banks and other business funders and advisers including the Princes Trust Youth Business Scotland, Business Gateway Fife and Fife Chamber of Commerce.

Stuart Foulkes of KK Electrics, St Andrews and chairman of the town’s Business Association welcomed the event: “I came along to meet potential funders that could help us grow our business,” he said afterwards, “and today enabled me to do just that.”

Councillor Lesley Laird, Fife Council’s executive spokesperson for economy and planning, welcomed the opportunity for businesses to gather information and advice from a range of funders. She said, “We know that business finance is a crucial issue and it is one of the most pressing concerns I hear about when I visit local companies.”

The “Meet the Funder” event was hosted by Fife Council as part of the work economic development undertakes to support businesses, whatever stage of development they are in.
