Police in Fife have successfully traced and arrested two males in connection with a number of break-ins carried out in Cupar.

Local officers charged the 32-year-old and 16-year-old after properties on Provost Wynd, Bishopgate, Dalgairn Crescent and Kirkgate were targeted overnight on Tuesday, November 24.

Both appeared before Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday, November 26.

Police Scotland Sergeant Gary Combe said: “I’d like to thank the local community whose vital information helped us swiftly trace and arrest two people in connection with these incidents.

“I hope this sends out a clear message that local officers are committed to tackling this sort of criminal activity in our communities.

“I would like to reassure residents of Cupar that crimes of dishonesty are relatively uncommon in the area and we will do everything in our power to ensure those who participate in this unacceptable behaviour are quickly arrested and brought before the courts.

“Anyone who wishes to report a crime in their area can do so by calling police on 101.”
