A wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life but it usually takes place after months of careful – and stressful – planning.
So it was a brave decision when Methil couple Laura Nardone and Alicia Paterson gave a TV crew the thumbs up to film their nuptial journey.
The pair - both 28 - will star in an episode of BBC Alba’s Bainnsean (Weddings) series on Friday, October 4.
“It was a great experience,“ said Alicia, a former army instructor.
“A camera crew followed us around for weeks but we got on really well with them.
“Just as well, because you could hardly go to the toilet without them being there!”
Alicia and Laura, an oil rig engineer planned a winter wedding at the Balbirnie Hotel, Markinch but - as the programme will show - the event needed some tweaking.
Who was going to walk up the aisle first, what surname would they choose, and who would get to wear the stylish wedding jacket they both fell head over heels for?
To add to the stress, Laura is stranded off-shore following the suspension of helicopter flights from oil rigs, leaving Alicia to face up to a hen-night and dress fittings alone.
“I’m not the make-up type and I had to go out for that on my own too - all my nightmares at once on the one day.”
The couple plan to watch the show - but not together.
Alicia said: “Laura’s working so she’ll have to watch it on the oil rig with all her colleagues!”
