A plumber from Methil could be in the running to be named as Britain’s Top Tradesman in a national competition.
Andrew Rogers (41), saw off competition from across the region to become one of only four local tradesmen and women to make it through to the regional finals of the Screwfix contest, which took place yesterday (Tuesday) as the Mail went to press.
If successful, he could be in with a chance of making it through to the grand final at Wembley stadium, where the winner will be crowned top tradesman and receive a brand new Toyota truck worth £28,000 to help with their business.
Andrew, who trades under the name Andy Plumbing Services, thinks his reputation within the industry as a hardworking and honest tradesman will help him to stand out against the crowd and impress the judges.
He said: “I spend a lot of my time promoting the fact that most of us in the trade are reputable, hardworking individuals who strive to do the best job for our customers possible. So this recognition from Screwfix is great and I hope to go further in the competition.”
John Mewett, Screwfix marketing director, said: “Andrew has made it through to the regional finals because he is a prime example of how hardworking and proud tradesmen in the industry are today.”
