In her day, Leslie mum Gaynor Hill was one of the region’s biggest fans of Britain’s best loved boy band - Take That.
And now she’s using her love of the group that are responsible for well known hits such as ‘It Only takes A Minute’, ‘Back For Good’, ‘Could It Be Magic’, ‘Patience’ and ‘Relight My Fire’, to help boost a charity drive to raise cash for disadvantaged children in the region.
For Gaynor is mum of Reagan and Morgan, who together with friend Devon Robb, have already raised a staggering £3500 for good causes in a little over 12 months.
Known as the Leslie Fundraisers - the youngsters have already completed a number of charity events including sponsored walks, organised fairs and fetes in the quest to raise as much money as possible for local charities.
Now the girls’ latest venture is a music extravaganza featuring a number of Fife-based musical talents, including the young singing sensation - Saskia Eng - who has appeared on the hit TV programme Britain’s Got Talent.
And that’s where Gaynor comes in, as she’s persuaded Take This, Scotland’s best Take That tribute act to headline the event which takes place later this month.
“I was, and still am a massive Take That fan and while I couldn’t get Gary Barlow to come along, I think we’ve got the next best thing, Take This are a fabulous tribute act that know how to get a party started,” explained Gaynor.
The event, starts at 3.30 p.m. and features the headline act on stage by 8.30 p.m., allowing youngsters, fans and families to attend.
“It was important to be able to allow all ages to be able to attend, after all, the Leslie Fundraisers are all under 16 years old,” Gaynor told the Gazette.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 18 at the Greenside Hotel, Leslie.
A stellar line up for charity fundraiser
As well as Take This, the event also boasts a wealth of Fife and Edinburgh talent including Britain’s Got talent star Saskia Eng, Luke McClaren, Jak Kelly, Aldo Mac and John Freddy Caldicott on the bill.
Tickets priced £10 adults and £6 under-18 can be purchased from the Greenside Hotel or from Gaynor on 07720-814452.
