Young theatrical performers from the East Neuk will be returning soon to the live stage in Anstruther with their latest presentation.

Harbourlights, the East Neuk Music Theatre Company, presents ‘Olivia!’, an interesting take on some well-known stories and some equally familiar characters, for a week later this month.

Harbourlights, formerly Waid Junior Operatic Society, has a talented cast of around 40 local youngsters, aged from eight to 17, who have been busily rehearsing dialogue, songs and dance numbers since August.
A musical comedy, ‘Olivia!’ was especially written for a youth cast, with many of its catchy songs having been inspired by more well-known favourites.
The show is a colourful production, following the rags to riches adventures of its heroine from downtrodden orphan to a star of the stage.

With Victorian London as a backdrop, Olivia meets a host of familiar characters from the period, including Eliza Doolittle, Dodger, Fagin, George Bernard Saw, Ebenezer Scrooge, Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, on her journey to become Gilbert and Sullivan’s new leading lady.
The show runs from March 19-21 inclusive in Waid Centre, Anstruther, at  7.15 p.m.

Tickets go on sale on March 13 and can be bought at Govan Optometrists, Shore Street, Anstruther, during the day or from Waid Centre in the evenings. Tickets will also be available at the door on show nights.
