A LUTHRIE musician is hoping to create a ‘Later with Jools Holland’ style event in north east Fife.

Singer/songwriter Colin McEwan recently moved to the area and has been playing solo gigs in venues such as the Bear Tavern in Newburgh and the Stag Inn in Falkland.

Now he wants other performers to join him during a series of gig nights beginning at the Stag this month.

Colin said: “I’ve been playing gigs locally since last November.

“A friend offered me a regular spot at the Stag but I thought it would get a bit dull if I was just playing the same songs every few weeks.

“So I decided to create a regular evening where people who have something they’d like to perform will have the opportunity to get up on stage and do it in front of an audience.

“I’ve had interest from acts including a new three-piece traditional band and a solo performer.

“It would be great to have a Jools Holland-style night with a wide variety of performers.”

The ‘Colin McEwan and Friends’ nights will begin at the Stag Inn in Falkland on Thursday, August 18.
