QUESTION marks continue to surround the circumstances which led to a man lying unconscious in a Kirkcaldy street.
The man’s condition in hospital is described as “serious” - despite the fact that he was apparently uninjured when found by a passer-by on Balsusney Road on Friday evening.
He was taken, by ambulance, to the town’s Victoria Hospital, but later had to be transferred to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Graeme Dursley, detective sergeant with Police Scotland’s Fife Division, who is leading the enquiry, said: “A local man found him lying on the roadway near the cemetery around 8.45 p.m.
“Although he had no obvious injury, his condition deteriorated and is now giving cause for concern.
“We don’t know how he came to be there and are asking anyone who saw him around this time to contact us.
“We are aware that a second man was also in the street around this time and I would appeal for him to contact us, as he may have information which could help us with our inquiries.“
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
