New cards to help stroke affected

Have your say

Speech and language therapists in Fife are using innovative new conversation cards to help support the families and carers of people who are impacted by aphasia, following a stroke.

The cards are specifically designed to help tackle a number of challenging topics following a stroke, including maintaining relationships, interaction, service issues, and information regarding aphasia and its impact.

Aphasia is caused by damage to the parts of the brain that are responsible for understanding and using language and it is thought to affect one in three stroke sufferers.
