A FIFE charity which helps fund research into childhood cancer has a major Kirkcaldy based event coming up in June.
Love Oliver was set up by parents Jennifer and Andy Gill following the death of their 24-week-old son Oliver Gill to a rare form of the disease on Christmas Day 2010 and has since raised nearly £140,000.
On June 8 it is hosting a ‘New to You’ event in Newcraigs Church from 10.00 a.m to 2.00 p.m and everyone is invited.
The day will feature an indoor sale of new and nearly new clothes, books, toys and equipment for babies and children.
There will also be entertainment provided by Jo Jingles, facepainting, cakes and snacks, a merchandise stall and a raffle.
Jennifer told The Press she is excited about the event.
“It is the first time we have done something like this,” she said.
“We have had lots of amazing items donated and we are looking forward to them going to good homes.
“It should be a really good and fun day with lots of different things happening.
“It also feels really significant to be having this event for babies and children in memory of our own very special baby who is inspiring all this fundraising.
“It is a great opportunity for parents to pick up some bargains for children who grow out of things so quickly, have an enjoyable day out and raise money for a fantastic cause all at the same time.”
