THE East Neuk has a brand new holiday park thanks to the final realisation of a dream from a mother and daughter team.
Gwen and Kirsty Peddie opened the Silverdyke Holiday Park, just outside Anstruther, at the beginning of March, transforming what was once a bare field into a space for 130 holiday homes and lodges and 31 fully-serviced touring pitches.
On site, there is a state of the art toilet and shower block, with under floor heating which Kirsty says has been much appreciated by visitors!
Once fully operational, the park is expected to create nearly £750,000 for the local economy.
Gwen said: “We hoped to open last summer but the weather was against us the whole time however we were really busy on our opening weekend and the view from our customers was very encouraging with 100% positive comments. It has been a big change and Kirsty and I have been hands-on all through the development.”
Kirsty added: “After finally clearing all the hurdles with planning permission and getting the services on to the park it was really exciting to be fully booked for the Easter and May holiday weekends.”
