A new community club has opened in East Wemyss which aims to provide local children with new activities and days out.
The East Wemyss Community Club was set up by local parents back in April with the help of Youth First and the Wemyss Community Trust, and the first meeting was held earlier this month.
Starting with a kids club, for ages five to 11 (under fives welcome with parental supervision), it has a mix of activities including cookery, arts and crafts and games.
The hope is to develop the community club to provide activities for all age groups over the next year.
Local MSP David Torrance was invited to the first meeting. He said: “I was delighted to be asked to attend the first meeting of this club, which is held in East Wemyss Primary School. The club was formed and being run by parents.
“ It provides a variety of interesting activities for children and I had great fun taking part in some of them during my visit.
“I wholeheartedly support initiatives such as this and I will continue to provide my support to the East Wemyss Community Club in any way I can in the future.”
The club meets at East Wemyss Primary School every Wednesday from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Cost is £3 per child and £2 for any siblings.
