WHILE Diamond Jubilee celebrations were in full swing last week, the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther staged a lively and spectacular Open Day.
A 200-strong crowd enjoyed the special maritime flavour of one of the area’s top visitor attractions, including the inauguration of the new Fisherlass and Fisherlad and an assortment of family activities.
Admission to the museum was free all day, while exhibitions were followed by displays of circus skills and characters doing a walkabout in ‘extreme fancy dress’, along with fun activities for children with Salty Jock.
Fisherlass Eva Thomas and Fisherlad George Barnett arrived on board The Reaper for their inauguration, before they announced the winners of a children’s art competition run by the museum.
Visitors were able to go on board The Reaper for a look around, while the day also featured a model boat display and other attractions on The Folly.
