It was voted the number one Christmas film of all time by the British public in a recent poll, and although I don’t agree that it’s the best of all time, it is cracking good Christmas family viewing as Wallace would say!

It’s got it all in there hasn’t it? Little boy accidentally left behind as his huge extended family head off to Paris for Christmas and he is left to fend for himself, believing that he has wished them away! It’s all fun and games until a pair of ne’er do wells come into the neighbourhood with the aim of stealing the presents.

But Kevin (Macauley Culkin) has other ideas and hatches an ingenious plan to thwart their attempts.

It’s hard to believe that the film is 14 years old! But it has never lost its appeal for children of all ages, with comedy, drama, intrigue and a good dollop of sentiment and festive cheese added in for good measure.

So cuddle up warm and snug with a mug of hot chocolate and relive the fun all over again with your nearest and dearest.
