The recently re-formed Glenrothes band, Rioteers, have released a video for their tune- ‘Nightfreak’, which the band recorded as their last single when they split up in the summer.
This classic cartoon video fits perfectly with the gritty Indie rock’n’roll of the band. It’s great to have them back, check out the video at - www.youtube.com/watch?v=akcfyKSuY0E
Cardenden band Calm as the Colour have been causing a bit of a stir recently with their free release, ‘Velvet Sunburst’. The song is a full band version of the demo track that featured on last year’s Ticket to Liberty EP, which gives the tune new life and takes it in a rockier direction while keeping it’s acoustic heart, reminiscent of old Fife favourites Sergeant. I expect big things from this band in 2012 with things bubbling along nicely for the band thanks to some good radio and newspaper exposure recently. Another local band with a new video for an old track is the Draymin, with a sad video for their excellent and poignant tune ‘Block 11’, a tale of the Concentration camps during World War Two. Despite being rather graphic and distressing, the video really hits home the message of the song. Check it out- http://thedraymin.blogspot.com/2011/11/block-11.html
