So that was Rewind then...

My first ever taste of a music festival on Sunday had already been rendered pointless by the last minute absence of headliners OMD due to illness (the only reason I was going) but with little chance of selling the ticket, I ventured into the unknown anyway - straight into a bizarre world where dayglo and the ra-ra skirt were king.

What makes people dress in the most ridiculous way is beyond me, but full marks for the inventiveness of some of the costumes (most of which did have an 80s theme), and no marks for the 60+ bl0ke with a grey moustache who just wandered around in a flowery dress for no apparent reason.

Never have there been so many Madonnas in the one place at the same time, while my favourite costume was definitely ‘Monkey’ from the old TV show. I, meanwhile, donned wellies and a waterproof jacket and went as someone who didn’t want to get soaked...

Overall, I wouldn’t say it was ‘fun’ as mass gatherings are not really my scene, but it was certainly an experience...

Quick work: Was at a wee party on Saturday at my brother’s to mark his birthday... and housewarming... and engagement.

Yes, he may have turned 44 at the weekend (and I feel old just writing that), but he’s been moving at warp speed this year, having met someone, got a place together and proposed in the space of six months. And why not, no point wasting time for the sake of it.

So congratulations Derek and Steph, happy journey - and I better get started on the best man’s speech/stag do preparations ...

New name: So Rovers are now playing in the ‘Scottish Championship’ following the creation of the new SPFL. Aside from the blatant copying from down south, it’s rather a grand title for the product on show...

This week: Watched ‘Movie 43’, possibly the most insanely un-PC film ever; Had a chat with Supergirl at Rewind, unfortunately it wasn’t Helen Slater ...
