Such a great building - a combination of ruins and sections that are still completely intact. The gardens though are lovely - immaculately kept, with well mown lawns and some bright colourful flowers which were attracting a large number of bees and butterflies. Had the sun been shining a little bit brighter that day I would have lingered longer to enjoy the pleasant space.
If you’ve never been I would definitely recommend a visit.
Question is, where should I visit next for a taste of history?
Family portrait: So, the latest photograph of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and young Prince George has been revealed to the world’s media. There’s no denying the photographs are lovely and they look like very happy and proud parents. It seemed a little odd to me that the photographs were taken by Prince George’s grandad Michael Middleton. I had been expecting them to be official photographs taken by the royal photographer who had taken the wedding pictures and the likes. Seems that Mr Middleton now has a new title of royal photographer... who knew just a very proud grandfather of a King to be could claim such a job title just by doing what every grandparent would do when there was a new arrival to their family.
Joke time: Was it just me, or did anyone else think the jokes chosen as the top 10 of the Fringe this year weren’t great in the laughter stakes?
