With Debbie Clarke
I had hoped to be able to put my feet up and enjoy watching a lot of Christmas films during my week-long holiday from work, but was not to be. I was busy from the start of the week right to the end! I suppose that is to be expected at this time of year though. There is always so much to do whether that be putting up festive decorations or buying presents as well as the usual things you put off until you have time to properly do them. I managed to pretty much finish my Christmas shopping and better still I was able to wrap up the majority of Christmas presents! I ventured over the water to Edinburgh a couple of times. The Christmas market is always top of the list of places to visit. It manages to make you feel festive, especially drinking hot chocolate while you are perusing the many stalls. This year I also indulged in some chocolate teacakes which were delicious (I particularly liked the Amaretto and white chocolate ones!) But a visit to Edinburgh over the festive season would not be complete without popping into The Dome. The decorations are spectacular.
Show finale: Well the X Factor is over for another year. Did you predict the 2013 winner? I have to say I didn’t watch the show week in week out as sometimes the performances were just terrible. But I thought Sam Bailey was fab on Sunday night - she certainly outshone Katy Perry by a mile!
But I wasn’t blown away by the winner’s single - it’s okay but nothing spectacular. I wonder what the Strictly final will bring? Hopefully it might be a bit better ...
Christmas time: Just a few sleeps to go now until the big day and I am very much looking forward to it.
I’m not usually a big fan of turkey with all the trimmings, but I do love my mum’s Christmas dinner. That makes December 25 special - along with the festive music and presents!
This week: Arranged to deliver some Christmas presents, wrote out some Christmas cards and enjoyed a festive night out.
