Apparently based on a true story, this unlikely tale sees four young men operate a credit card fraud scheme which allows them to live a life far beyond their means.
But when they steal from the wrong man, they find themselves threatened by a sadistic gangster. They need to raise £2m in a fortnight or face an unseemly end.
This takes them all the way to Miami where as tensions in the group rise, they attempt to pull off one of the biggest and most audacious diamond heists in British history.
This involves faking the wedding of a Brunei prince in an elaborate hoax to steal priceless jewels, but who is conning who and it all comes to a head in an explosive and bloody finale.
With a bright young cast including Ed Speelers, the always excellent Will Poulter, and the lovely Emma Rigby, this is a surprisingly convincing thriller which would seem far-fetched if it wasn’t for the ‘true story’ element.
It looks and sounds great and for a popcorn evening in front of the telly, it’s well worth checking out.
