Diageo Business Insight – Four pupils from Kirkland recently went up against six pupils from Buckhaven High at the Business Insight Assessment Centre at Diageo. They all had to take part in a team activity, two assessments and an interview. After all this, Kirkland is very pleased to say that Katy McKain (S6) and Caitlin Simpson (S6) beat off stiff competition to be awarded a placement each at Diageo completing jobs as a production team leader and a label store operator respectively. The third available placement went to a Buckhaven pupil. The work placements are taking place this week.

National Theatre of Scotland – Last week, we welcomed the National Theatre of Scotland to Kirkland. A programme specifically for boys, the Jump project fuses physical theatre and storytelling. It builds confidence, self-esteem and greatly improves their performance skills as well. In November, the Kirkland participants will join others from Fife and Glasgow to showcase their skills at the Rothes Halls.
