This movie, which stars Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel, came out earlier this year. It is based on the book of the same name by ‘The Notebook’ and ‘Dear John’ author Nicholas Sparks, so definitely one for the girls I think. Hough takes on the role of Katie, a troubled young woman who appears to be running from something in her past. Headed to somewhere unknown, her bus stops off in a quaint little seaside town, Southport, where she meets shop owner Alex and his kids Lexie and Josh. Katie decides to stick around, getting herself a job in the local restaurant and a tiny little cottage hidden in the woods. She begins to settle and build a relationship with Alex, and new neighbour Jo. But things can’t stay that way forever, as it turns out the police are after her for murder... I found this film very watchable during my recent transatlantic flight, and thought both Hough and Duhamel were pretty good in their roles. And I deny you not to fall in love with little Lexie who is just adorable!
