I have to admit I love a film that is about someone and Howard Hughes is really someone!

In this film Leonardo DiCaprio brings American business magnate, aviator, investor, aerospace engineer, film maker and philanthropist Hughes to life. Covering the 1920s-1940s Hughes arrives in Los Angeles and dives right in directing a World War 1 aviation adventure ‘Hell’s Angels’ which was then one of the most expensive movies ever made. He quickly turns his attention towards the airplanes in his own films, investing, engineering and eventually building his own.

A man of adventure he piloted the airplanes himself and sometimes even crashed them. At the same time the film portrays his relationships with Catherine Hepburn (Cate Blanchett) and and Ava Gardner (Kate Beckinsale) which show how he struggles to deal with a darker side. This film will draw you into the life and experiences of an intriguing character who will inspire and amaze whilst at the same time provoke your sympathy.
