A COUPLE were rescued from a sixth floor balcony after a fire broke out in a flat in Park View, Kirkcaldy.

Neighbours were evacuated following the incident on Friday.

Neighbours were also evacuated following the incident in the early hours of Friday morning. A spokeswoman for Fife Fire and Rescue Service said fire crews were called to a property in the eight-storey block shortly after midnight. They helped a man and woman from their balcony and brought them down to safety. The pair were treated for smoke inhalation by a waiting ambulance but it’s believed they did not need to go to hospital for treatment.
