It might have been the last day before the October break, but it was a sad sombre occasion for the staff and pupils at Parkhill Primary, who said goodbye to headteacher Yvonne Wallace after 11 years in the post.

In a special assembly, Mrs Wallace was entertained by a performance from the school choir who sang two songs from Mary Poppins.

After Katie White from Leven Baptist Church said some kind words and a generous donation was made to Levenmouth food bank, the school enjoyed a fun presentation from the House Captains, offering Mrs Wallace all the best in the future.

The assembly was closed with Casey Dryburgh and Kole Doyle, the oldest and youngest pupils in the school, presenting Mrs Wallace with a collection and flowers.

During her time at Parkhill Mrs Wallace has, amongst other achievements, overseen the building of the new school wing and lead the school to a successful HMI inspection.

Pupils, parents and staff, both past and present, have shown thanks for her hard work, dedication and care.
