PEOPLE in the Glenrothes area are continuing to make arrangements to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

Organisations and individuals will be holding a variety of events around the beginning of June.

The latest to be set-up is a street party in Grove Place, Tofthill, Balbirnie Green on Sunday, June 3 from 2-4pm which has been organised by Suzanne Gilbert and neighbours.

She said: “It’s a fairly new estate to it’s a neighbourly thing and it will be a typical, tradional street party with the tables out and lots of food.”

Other events so far confirmed include a parade and fun day organised by Royal British Legion Scotland’s Glenrothes branch women’s section on June 2, an all day party at Christ’s Kirk Church of Scotland on June 5, a picnic in Falkland Palace orchard the same day and concerts at Markinch Town Hall on May 24 and 25.

The Salvation Army Hall in Glenrothes will be the venue for a celebration on May 31.
