A trio of pensioners who found themselves behind bars at the weekend have made a successful bid for freedom.

Noelene Rait and Isa Carnochan, who live in the Eden Court development in Cupar were joined by their friend Cath Webster from Dundee for a charity jailbreak.

They were among the 12 teams who ‘escaped’ from Perth Prison.

The aim was to get as far away from the jail as possible - without spending any money.

The trio made their departure in style and ended up in Aberdeen in an assortment of transport, including a Rolls Royce and a 1941 fire engine. When the ladies arrived back in Cupar they were cheered at the station and were treated to a champagne reception at Eden Court.

Proceeds from the jailbreak are to be split between Caring for Kids and another charity decided by the ladies.
