police are appealing for anyone who may have been filming events on Pathhead Sands before a horror accident at the weekend to come forward.
A 30-year-old Polish man died after his car hit a boulder in the area around 4 p.m. on Sunday. No other vehicle was involved in the incident.
The accident happened during a meeting of Polish BMW enthusiasts at the local beauty spot when dozens of car owners congregated to show off their vehicles. The man who died is not from Fife, and police say his identity will not be given until his next of kin have been informed.
It is believed some vehicles were racing and performing stunts before the accident happened.
Inspector Brenda Sinclair, deputy head of road policing, said: “I am appealing for information or any material filmed on a mobile phone or other device which would assist us in our enquiries.
“We understand that a number of people who were attending this event left the area prior to the arrival of emergency services, and we would urge them to contact us as they may have information which would help us.
“We also understand that a number of people were using mobile phones and other devices to record the event, and I would appeal to them to contact us and make the material available to us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Fife Police on 0845 600 5702 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
