Officers in Kinross-shire have joined forces with Fife Police to carry out co-ordinated roadside vehicle checks in a bid to tackle car crime, vehicle theft and rural crime.
Perth and Kinross Community Sergeant Amanda Nicolson said: “The activity began last weekend and will continue over the summer months, with officers stopping vehicles during the evening and overnight to identify individuals who use the cloak of darkness to commit vehicle or rural crime.
“We are committed to tracing and arresting individuals involved in these crimes and bringing them before the courts.
“Working with partners, officers will also provide advice and information on crime prevention to residents and motorists within our communities.
“By changing habits and ensuring simple security measures are in place, we can work together to deter opportunistic thieves.”
