Police treating Leven woman’s death as unexplained

Police in Levenmouth are treating the death of a woman in Leven as unexplained.

Officers received a report of concern for a person within an address in the Broom area of the town last night (Tuesday).

Crews from the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to assist, but an elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman said: “Police were called to an address on Green Gates, Leven, at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, January 5 following a report of concern for a person.

“The Scottish Ambulance Service also attended, and an 82-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post-mortem examination.”
