A St Andrews based charity is urging people to be selfless with their ‘selfies’.
One of the well-known faces backing Worldwide Cancer Research’s latest fundraising initiative is TV presenterLorraine Kelly.
As an ambassador for the charity, she is helping us to spread the word about its research and its latest social media selfie campaign.
“We’re asking everyone to take a selfie holding our new logo and a text-to-donate message and share it on their social media networks to raise awareness and vital donations to help our scientists do their important work all over the world,” a spokesperson said.
The charity, previously known as the Association for International Cancer Research, recently changed its name to Worldwide Cancer Research to emphasise the global nature of its work.
Now it is urging supporters to be “selfless and take a selfie” and take part in its Facebook and Twitter campaigns. Go to Worldwide Cancer Research on Facebook and click on the link below Lorraine Kelly’s post.
